Nah, di skala industri kimia, panas yang terbuang itu jumlahnya jauh lebih masif. Kalau dibiarkan lepas begitu saja ke udara, pabrik sebenarnya sedang membuang-buang energi secara cuma-cuma. Di sinilah sistem <b data-path-to-node=\"3\" data-index-in-node=\"288\"><i data-path-to-node=\"3\" data-index-in-node=\"288\">Waste Heat Recovery<\/i> (WHR)<\/b> atau pemulihan panas sisa masuk sebagai penyelamat.<\/p>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"4\">Kenapa Panas Bisa Terbuang?<\/h3>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"5\">Di dalam sebuah pabrik, unit operasional seperti <i data-path-to-node=\"5\" data-index-in-node=\"49\">boiler<\/i>, <i data-path-to-node=\"5\" data-index-in-node=\"57\">furnace<\/i>, atau reaktor kimia membutuhkan asupan energi yang sangat besar untuk beroperasi. Sayangnya, tidak semua energi tersebut terserap sempurna ke dalam proses produksi.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"6\">Sesuai dengan hukum Termodinamika, pasti akan selalu ada energi panas sisa yang tidak terpakai dan akhirnya terlepas ke lingkungan\u2014biasanya menguap lewat cerobong asap (gas buang) atau terbawa oleh aliran air pendingin.<\/p>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"7\">Menangkap yang Terbuang: Cara Kerja WHR<\/h3>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"8\">Prinsip kerja WHR ini sangat taktis. Alih-alih membiarkan gas buang bersuhu tinggi terbuang sia-sia, panasnya &#8220;ditangkap&#8221; kembali menggunakan alat penukar panas (<i data-path-to-node=\"8\" data-index-in-node=\"162\">Heat Exchanger<\/i>).<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"9\">Panas hasil tangkapan ini tidak didiamkan, melainkan didaur ulang untuk:<\/p>\n<ul data-path-to-node=\"10\">\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"10,0,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"10,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Memanaskan bahan baku awal<\/b> sebelum masuk ke dalam reaktor utama, sehingga reaktor tidak perlu bekerja terlalu keras dari suhu dingin.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"10,1,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"10,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Menghasilkan uap (steam)<\/b> yang bisa dimanfaatkan untuk menggerakkan turbin dan memproduksi energi listrik cadangan bagi pabrik.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"11\">Bukan Sekadar Jargon Ramah Lingkungan<\/h3>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"12\">Penerapan teknologi WHR di pabrik bukan cuma sekadar tempelan untuk memenuhi jargon &#8220;industri hijau&#8221;. Secara standar operasional di lapangan, ini adalah strategi jitu untuk menekan pengeluaran.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"13\">Dengan memanfaatkan kembali panas sisa, pabrik secara otomatis mengurangi konsumsi bahan bakar utama (seperti batu bara atau gas alam) untuk proses pemanasan. Efek dominonya sangat jelas: biaya operasional (<i data-path-to-node=\"13\" data-index-in-node=\"207\">Operational Expenditure\/OPEX<\/i>) turun drastis, efisiensi energi pabrik meningkat pesat, dan sebagai bonus tak terpisahkan, tingkat emisi karbon yang dihasilkan juga ikut menyusut.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pernah merasa panas saat berdiri di dekat knalpot motor atau mesin outdoor AC?
