Menara tinggi menjulang ini merupakan unit operasi paling ikonik yang memisahkan campuran berdasarkan perbedaan volatilitas atau titik didihnya.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"12\"><b data-path-to-node=\"12\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Landasan Termodinamika: VLE<\/b><\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"12\">Operasi distilasi sepenuhnya bergantung pada <i data-path-to-node=\"12\" data-index-in-node=\"73\">Vapor-Liquid Equilibrium<\/i> (VLE). Di setiap <i data-path-to-node=\"12\" data-index-in-node=\"115\">tray<\/i> atau sepanjang <i data-path-to-node=\"12\" data-index-in-node=\"135\">packing<\/i>, terjadi kontak antara uap yang naik dan cairan yang turun. Komponen yang lebih volatil (titik didih rendah) akan cenderung berpindah ke fase uap, sementara yang kurang volatil akan tetap di fase cair. Di sinilah Hukum Raoult dan Hukum Dalton diaplikasikan secara nyata untuk memprediksi komposisi produk.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"12\">\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-566\" src=\"https:\/\/himatemia.eng.unila.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/images.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"195\" height=\"258\" \/><\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"13\"><b data-path-to-node=\"13\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Kenapa Menara Harus Tinggi?<\/b><\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"13\">Pertanyaan klasik: &#8220;Kenapa menara distilasi harus setinggi itu?&#8221;. Jawabannya terletak pada tingkat kemurnian yang diinginkan. Semakin kecil perbedaan titik didih antar komponen, semakin banyak &#8220;tahap kesetimbangan&#8221; (<i data-path-to-node=\"13\" data-index-in-node=\"244\">theoretical stages<\/i>) yang diperlukan. Secara fisik, jumlah <i data-path-to-node=\"13\" data-index-in-node=\"302\">stages<\/i> ini diterjemahkan menjadi jumlah <i data-path-to-node=\"13\" data-index-in-node=\"342\">tray<\/i> atau tinggi <i data-path-to-node=\"13\" data-index-in-node=\"359\">packing<\/i>. Semakin tinggi menaranya, semakin banyak kesempatan bagi fluida untuk bertukar massa, menghasilkan produk dengan kemurnian hingga 99% atau lebih.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"14\"><b data-path-to-node=\"14\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Refluks: Kunci Pengendalian<\/b><\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"14\">Salah satu variabel paling krusial adalah <i data-path-to-node=\"14\" data-index-in-node=\"70\">Reflux Ratio<\/i>. Dengan mengembalikan sebagian produk atas kembali ke menara, kita memperkaya kontak massa di zona <i data-path-to-node=\"14\" data-index-in-node=\"182\">rectifying<\/i>. Namun, ada harga yang harus dibayar: semakin tinggi refluks, semakin besar beban panas di <i data-path-to-node=\"14\" data-index-in-node=\"284\">reboiler<\/i> dan <i data-path-to-node=\"14\" data-index-in-node=\"297\">condenser<\/i>, yang artinya biaya operasional (utilitas) juga meningkat.
