Campuran dipanaskan hingga salah satu komponennya mencapai titik didih dan berubah menjadi uap. Uap tersebut kemudian didinginkan dalam kondensor, sehingga kembali menjadi cairan (distilat) yang murni atau lebih murni dibandingkan campuran awal.<\/p>\n<p>Contohnya, air dan etanol memiliki titik didih yang berbeda: air mendidih pada suhu 100\u00b0C, sedangkan etanol mendidih pada sekitar 78\u00b0C. Contohnya adalah pemisahan air dari larutan garam.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>Distilasi Fraksional<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Digunakan untuk campuran dengan perbedaan titik didih yang kecil. Proses ini melibatkan kolom fraksional yang meningkatkan efisiensi pemisahan. Destilasi fraksional banyak digunakan dalam industri minyak bumi untuk memisahkan berbagai fraksi, seperti bensin dan diesel.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li>Distilasi Uap<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Memanfaatkan uap air untuk menurunkan titik didih komponen tertentu.
